Introducing 3rd Wednesday Worship
March 4, 2026
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6-7
The season of Lent is meant to be a time of personal reflection and preparation. It is a gift given to us by a loving God—a period of time where we deliberately focus with extra intensity on spiritual disciplines such as prayer and fasting, scripture reading, and service. We do this not as some grand act to earn God’s favor but out of our recognition that we all fall short, we all stray, and we all are in daily need of the grace of God. So we deliberately come to those ordinary channels whereby God’s grace flows to His people. The goal of all this, of course, is to be formed in Christ—to be deeply rooted and built up in him.
I hope we recognize that, though these practices are personal, they are meant to be engaged in within the context of a community of faith. It is within this God-given community that we find the love and support, the grace and the accountability to grow. From fun activities like our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner and Spice of Life to more serious gatherings like our Bible studies and Sunday school classes, we want to provide as many opportunities as we can for connection, engagement, and growth. This is why I’m excited about starting our 3rd Wednesday Worship.
Beginning Wednesday, March 18, we will have the opportunity to come together as one church, to spend time in fellowship (sharing dinner together), worship (praising God through song and devotion together), and formative connection (age-appropriate group time together).
Friends, I’ll say it plainly: I want to see you there! There was a time when Wednesday nights belonged to the church—other activities took a back seat. We all know that isn’t always the case anymore, so when I ask you to make these Third Wednesdays a priority, I know I’m asking you to do something that will require some intentionality and commitment, but I hope you will make every effort to be here. Our kids need it, our youth need it, and yes, our adults need it, too.
I truly believe this new avenue will offer us the opportunity to be strengthened in our faith—to be more deeply connected to Christ and to each other. And for that, we will all be thankful.
Grace and peace,
Brandon
