Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as watering the flowers, to preparing the church bulletins.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The ‘‘Knit One/Prayer Too’ Prayer Shawl ministry meets monthly (except during June-August) on the second Tuesday at Rusty’s Barbecue Restaurant, Leeds, AL, at 11:30 a.m. The purpose of the group is to provide prayer shawls or small blankets to those who need an expression of caring, comfort, peace and love. All of the shawls are made with love and covered with prayer.
The group includes ladies from Leeds First as well as ladies from other local churches. Some of the group knit and/or crochet and others provide support by participating and praying over the shawls as well as delivering the shawls. We receive lots of notes, calls and expressions of appreciation from those who receive the shawls and blankets. But all of us in this ministry receive countless blessings as well.
If you are interested in being part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please contact
Sherry Griffin at 205-640-3721 or 205-585-0658. Come join us anytime!

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook for additional church communication.
To get involved or for more information please contact Greg Jenkins 205-873-5183.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
