Sunday School

Agape Class (God’s Love)

A mixture of adults of all ages with or without children, this laid back class enjoys studying a variety of lessons that apply to everyday life. Class discussions are on how God’s love works around us and how we should have a better personal relationship with Him. Bynum Ensor leads study, and they are located on the first floor of the main building, close to the children Sunday school rooms.

Fellowship Class

Random House dictionary defines fellowship as; friendly relationship or companionship….this is the spirit and intent of The Fellowship Class. The members are 55 and up. There are 3 teachers who do independent research and encourage discussion from the class. Lessons and Daily Bible Study are based on the International Sunday School Lessons for Christian Teaching. The members are of one mind regarding general congregational needs, local concerns and mission projects. The Fellowship Classroom is in the Church building with class starting at 9:45 a.m.
Seeker Class
The Seekers Sunday school class is small adult study group consisting of enthusiastic members who enjoy learning about Christian beliefs and history. As the name implies, The Seekers class yearns to develop a better understanding of God’s plan for us and how we can become His true disciples. The Seekers meet each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. in The Seekers classroom in the Family Life Center. Studies are usually short duration and led by class members. Past studies have included works by Andy Stanley, Max Lacado and other well-known teachers of God’s word. Books of the Bible are also studied taking a chapter at a time.

Cornerstone Class

The Cornerstone class is a diverse group of older adults, married and single persons. A team of teachers rotate weekly with scripture based lessons from Faith Connections Bible Study series. The class meets in the Family Life Center. The group enjoys fellowship, food and fun. To share Jesus Christ in the community, they offer assistance to people in need, are active in Backpack Buddies and sponsor a family every Christmas. Contact Joyce Boggan for more information.
Bible Studies
Monday Mornings with Mike
Mike McDaniel leads a weekly Bible study group that is focused on revealing Christ through His Word. This group carefully reads and examines a particular book of the Bible, with the goal of finding Christ, one verse at a time. This group meets Mondays at 10 AM in the Family Life Center.
Women’s Studies
Women’s Bible studies are offered two or three times a year. Some have included Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer studies, as well as many other studies by Christian leaders. These studies meet in the Fellowship Hall (the basement of the main building) on Monday nights. Fellowship time begins at 5:30 P.M. The ladies bring their dinner and have fellowship time at 5:30 P.M (this is optional). The Bible study begins at 6:00 P.M. and ends at 8:00 P.M. Workbooks are available on the first night of the study and the cost for the book varies.
An annual beach retreat is offered the last week of April. The retreat begins on Wednesday and ends on Sunday. The location is usually the Beach Club at Fort Morgan Beach. The beach retreat is a time for fellowship, building relationships, in-depth studies of various Christian authors, morning and night devotions and of course, lots of fun and food!!
All women are invited and welcome to join us in study, prayer, fellowship, and our mission to support our children and youth.
