Women’s Ministry
Women’s Bible studies are offered two or three times a year. Some have included Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer studies, as well as many other studies by Christian leaders. These studies meet in the Fellowship Hall (the basement of the main building) on Monday nights. Fellowship time begins at 5:30 P.M. The ladies bring their dinner and have fellowship time at 5:30 P.M (this is optional). The Bible study begins at 6:00 P.M. and ends at 8:00 P.M. Workbooks are available on the first night of the study and the cost for the book varies.
An annual beach retreat is offered the last week of April. The retreat begins on Wednesday and ends on Sunday. The location is usually the Beach Club at Fort Morgan Beach. The beach retreat is a time for fellowship, building relationships, in-depth studies of various Christian authors, morning and night devotions and of course, lots of fun and food!!
The Women’s Ministry includes a fund raising mission program which supports our children and youth in attending Camp Sumatanga. Our children participate in different fund raisers during the year such as a fund raiser dinner, an annual Mother/Daughter luncheon, a yard sale each February, and other events to raise funds to pay for camp. A women’s prayer group meets on a regular basis to share in a fellowship dinner followed by a prayer meeting. The women meet in a home for a covered dish dinner. The women are asked to bring their prayer requests on individual sheets of paper, folded and then placed in a basket. At the end of the meal the basket is passed around for each person to take out a prayer request. Each request is prayed over and then the basket is passed around again until all requests have been prayed over. Each person takes all the prayer requests they took from the basket and prays for those daily until we meet again. The session ends with the participants singing worship songs (no talent needed, God loves to hear his children sing, all voices are beautiful to him).
All women are invited and welcome to join us in study, prayer, fellowship, and our mission to support our children and youth.
